Brow Lift in Charlotte, NC
Losing firmness in our skin is a natural part of the aging process, but the results can be devastating to the way we feel about ourselves. Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. David F. Klein, recommends brow lift surgery, also known as a forehead lift, for men and women in Charlotte, Salisbury, Harrisburg, Concord and surrounding areas of North Carolina who have signs of aging in the forehead and brow area.
What is a Brow Lift?
When you develop wrinkles and creases in your forehead and brow area, you begin to feel less confident about your appearance. People notice these problems that can detract from your eyes and personality. Dr. Klein specializes in brow lift surgery, also known as a forehead lift. The procedure removes excess skin and fat from the area above your eyes to give you a refreshed and young appearance.
Benefits of a Brow Lift
Men and women who have a brow lift at Renaissance Plastic Surgery understand that the procedure will help them look younger, but few really understand how transformative a forehead lift is until they see the final results. A brow lift helps by:
- Restoring a natural shape and curve to the eyebrows, which can help the eyes look more appealing
- Removing horizontal creases on the forehead
- Softening vertical lines between the eyes
For the best possible improvements in the upper portion of your face, Dr. Klein may recommend a forehead lift combined with blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) and injectables to refine the results. If you have flaws on the surface of your skin, such as sun damage or age spots, we can help with these after you have healed with our skin tightening, acne treatments and chemical peels.
Who is the Ideal Candidate for a Forehead Lift?
The ideal candidate for a forehead lift at Renaissance Plastic Surgery is someone who:
- Wants to correct creases in the forehead and brow area
- Has excess skin in the brow area that hangs above the eyes
- Has good skin elasticity
- Wants to take years off their appearance while maintaining a natural, age-appropriate appearance
What Do I Need to Do Before a Brow Lift?
We invite you to schedule a personal consultation with Dr. Klein if you are considering a brow lift as an anti-aging solution. Using a patient-centered approach, Dr. Klein listens to your concerns and then explains how a forehead lift will improve your appearance.
How Long Does It Take to Perform a Forehead Lift?
Depending on the technique that is right for you, a brow lift can take one to two hours. Dr. Klein will use a traditional technique for more severe cases of aging. This involves making an incision along the hairline from one ear to the other. For mild to moderate cases, he uses endoscopy, which only requires small incisions.
What to Expect After a Brow Lift
Forehead lift surgeries that are more extensive may require you to stay in the hospital overnight, but most are performed in our office with only local anesthesia. In these cases, you go home the same day. Someone will need to drive you home, though, and stay with you for a few days.
Each person’s pain tolerance is different, but if you do experience discomfort, non-prescription medications can help. Traditional forehead lifts require a longer recovery than endoscopic procedures. You may have some numbness and swelling around your cheeks and eyes. This may last for up to two weeks. For an endoscopic brow lift, the swelling and numbness is less severe. The incision may itch as the skin heals, and you should avoid rubbing or scratching the area. These symptoms typically last only two weeks.
Will I Have Scars After Getting a Forehead Lift?
You will have scars after a brow lift, but few people will notice them because Dr. Klein places the incisions along your hairline. Scars will have a pinkish color initially and gradually fade over a year.
When Will I See the Results?
Give the swelling time to subside before evaluating the results of your forehead lift. This can take up to one month.
How Long Will the Results of a Forehead Lift Last?
A brow lift is a cosmetic procedure, but it cannot stop the aging process or damage caused by exposure to the sun. Even so, you will enjoy the benefits for at least seven years and perhaps as long as 15 years.
How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost in Charlotte?
Because brow lift surgery is elective, your medical insurance will not help with the cost. We offer several payment options, including cash, check and major credit card. If you are interested in financing your forehead lift, we invite you to apply with CareCredit®.
