Breast Reduction in Charlotte, NC
Most women want larger, fuller breasts, but some women cannot wait to reduce the size of their breasts. Having overly-large breasts causes physical symptoms due to the excess strain on the back and neck, and many women feel self-conscious about the size of their breasts. Board-certified plastic surgeons, Dr. Klein and Dr. Kochuba, specializes in breast reduction surgery for women in Charlotte, Salisbury, Harrisburg, Concord and surrounding areas of North Carolina.
What is Breast Reduction?
Breast reduction can be performed for physical and emotional reasons. Dr. Klein and Dr. Kochuba reduces the size of your breasts by removing excess breast tissue, fat and skin to reshape the breasts. The goal of the surgery is to give you breasts that fit your body style and personal preferences.
Benefits of Breast Reduction
The benefits of breast reduction surgery are:
- Reducing the weight of the breasts
- Helping women enjoy more active lifestyles that are challenging with overly-large breasts
- Reducing physical symptoms caused by overly large breasts, such as back and neck pain
- Boosting a woman’s confidence about her appearance
- Helping women fit better into their bras and clothing
Who is the Ideal Candidate for Breast Reduction?
Dr. Klein and Dr. Kochuba recommends breast reduction to women who are unhappy with the large size of their breasts. They may inquire about the surgery for physical and emotional reasons.
What Do I Need to Do Before Breast Reduction?
When you decide to have breast reduction surgery, you deserve to feel comfortable and confident in the skill of your surgeon to improve your breast size and shape. We recommend that you schedule a consultation with Dr. Klein and Dr. Kochuba. They will provide realistic expectations and accurate information about how breast reduction will help you.
How Long Does It Take to Perform Breast Reduction?
Breast reduction surgery takes one to three hours.
What to Expect After Breast Reduction
More extensive breast reduction surgeries are performed at the hospital. In these cases, women typically stay the night. The majority of women, though, only need an outpatient surgery and can go home after the procedure. However, someone should drive you home following surgery.
Pain after the surgery is well-managed with non-prescription medications. The pain may increase when you get out of bed, stand up and walk as these activities cause the breasts to move.
You will wear a compression bandage for up to three days, and the sutures are removed after three to seven days. Once the bandage is removed, you will need to wear a special bra at all times, including when you sleep. You will need to avoid sex for seven days and exercise for at least six weeks.
Will I Have Scars After Getting Breast Reduction?
You will have pinkish scars after the surgery. Over the next year, the scars will gradually fade until they are barely noticeable.
When Will I See the Results?
You will see results immediately after your breast reduction. Swelling will make your breasts look larger than expected.
How Long Will the Results of Breast Reduction Last?
For the majority of women, breast reduction may be long-lasting. Some women may develop fat and soft tissue in the breasts after the surgery. In these cases, Dr. Klein and Dr. Kochuba recommends a second surgery.
How Much Does Breast Reduction Cost in Charlotte?
Because breast reduction may be recommended to reduce physical symptoms, it may be covered by your insurance. Your out-of-pocket costs can be paid by cash, check and major credit card. Financing is available through CareCredit®.
