Breast Implant Exchange in Charlotte, NC
If you’re unhappy with your breast implants, you may be considering having them removed and replaced with implants that are a better match for your cosmetic goals. At HKB Renaissance Plastic Surgery, Dr. Andrew Kochuba and Dr. David Klein are proud to offer this, among other breast enhancement surgeries, to the residents of Charlotte, Harrisburg and Salisbury, NC.
What is Breast Implant Exchange?
Breast implant exchange is a breast enhancement procedure that involves removing a patient’s current breast implants and replacing them with new ones. For patients who are unhappy with their results from a previous breast augmentation surgery, breast implant exchange provides a solution. With this procedure, patients can correct the shortfalls of their previous breast augmentation and achieve the results they initially desired. Additionally, the breast implant exchange technique can be used for patients who have experienced certain complications with their breast implants, which might require them to be removed. In these cases, the breast implants can be replaced during the same procedure to eliminate additional surgeries.
Benefits of Breast Implant Exchange
Benefits of the breast implant exchange technique include:
- Correcting undesirable results from a previous breast augmentation
- Replacing breast implants when in the event of a complication
- Breast implant removal and replacement in a single procedure
- Prevents additional scarring and surgeries
Who is the Ideal Candidate for Breast Implant Exchange?
The ideal candidate for a breast implant exchange is a patient who is unhappy with their current breast implants, and would prefer to receive new implants instead of removing their implants completely. However, the best way to determine your candidacy for the breast implant exchange treatment is to schedule a consultation with Dr. David Klein or Dr. Andrew Kochuba. During this consultation, they can determine if a breast implant exchange is the best solution for you.
What is the Breast Implant Exchange Procedure Like?
The breast implant exchange is performed with general anesthesia. When possible, Dr. David Klein and Dr. Andrew Kochuba will use the same incision areas as your initial surgery, which enables them to remove your breast implants without creating any additional scarring. Once the breast implants are removed, new implants will be placed into the breasts. This procedure may take up to two hours to perform.
What Can I Expect After Breast Implant Exchange?
After your breast implant exchange, you can expect swelling, bruising and discomfort in the breasts as the tissue heals. Ensuring that the tissue heals properly is key to achieving optimal results and enjoying a comfortable recovery period. For this reason, many patients take one to two weeks off of work and other activities to rest as much as possible. Additional downtime may be necessary in some cases. On the day of your breast implant exchange, we’ll provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to help you successfully navigate the recovery process. Breast implants are designed to be long-lasting, so you can enjoy the results of your breast implant exchange for many years to come.
How Much Does Breast Implant Exchange Cost in Charlotte, NC?
The cost of your breast implant exchange will be determined based on the unique treatment plan you develop with Dr. David Klein and Dr. Andrew Kochuba during your initial consultation. As a cosmetic treatment, breast implant exchange is not usually covered by insurance. However, we do everything possible to make this and other treatments affordable for our patients. Payments can be made via cash, check, major credit card and CareCredit® financing.
