What is an Arm Lift?
Aging not only takes a toll on our faces but also on our bodies. Our skin loses elasticity, gets thinner and is prone to sagging on our upper arms. We also develop little pockets of fat where we once had contours of muscles. An arm lift helps with all of these cosmetic problems so that you feel more confident wearing short sleeves and raising your hand to wave hello. No more “bat wings.”
Benefits of Brachioplasty
Brachioplasty removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms. After the surgery, your arms have a more toned appearance.
Who is the Ideal Candidate for an Arm Lift?
An arm lift might be right for you if you have loose skin and fat on the underside of your arm between the elbow and armpit.
What Do I Need to Do Before Brachioplasty?
A patient-centered approach ensures that you feel comfortable with your decision to have arm lift surgery. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. David Klein believes in this type of approach. We recommend that you schedule a personal consultation with him to learn more about brachioplasty.
How Long Does It Take to Perform an Arm Lift?
An arm lift takes about two hours to perform.
What to Expect After Brachioplasty
Your upper arm is wrapped in a compression bandage to minimize swelling and hold the tissues in place. You will need to limit your activities and the use of your arms for one week. Full recovery takes about two weeks.
Will I Have Scars After Getting an Arm Lift?
The incision for brachioplasty extends from the elbow to the armpit, so you will have a scar. It takes about one year for the scar to fade, but it will not completely disappear.
When Will I See the Results?
You will be able to see the results of your arm lift when the compression bandage is removed, which is usually two weeks after the surgery.
How Long Will the Results of Brachioplasty Last?
If you continue to exercise and eat right, the results of your arm lift will last for many years.
How Much Does an Arm Lift Cost in Charlotte?
Brachioplasty is not covered by insurance, so we want to provide an accurate cost. After your consultation, we will have a treatment plan to base our cost. We offer several convenient payment options, including cash, check and major credit cards. Financing is available through CareCredit®.
